A net gun is a non-lethal weapon designed to fire a net which entangles the target. Net guns have a long history of being used to capture wildlife for research purposes. A net gun is currently also in development for riot control.

Some Tokyo SWAT members used the net gun to capture and restrain some members of the Imperial Army in the Battle of Ginza.
